Mr. Malcolm Saul Davids has the Certificate in Mine Environmental Control currently been offered by the University of the Witwatersrand which was previously presented by the Chamber of Mines of South Africa. He started his career as a Ventilation trainee and worked himself up until obtaining the CMEC. He held several positions as MHSA appointee in terms of Section 12.1( Occupational Hygienist) of the Mine Health and Safety Act, 1996 (Act 29 of 1996) at several mines including holding a position as Inspector of Mines and also Senior Inspector of Mines in the DMRE. His last appointment was a 12.1 appointee in a diamond mine. His experience extends over a large area of different mining commodities. The experience which spans more than 40 years has really put him in a better position to be able to contribute to establishing the MSD Mining and Training Solutions. Other qualifications obtained whilst in the mining industry was the Blasting Certificate and also the Mine Overseer Certificate. He was appointed an Examiner for the Chamber of Mines of South Africa for the Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control from 2015 to 2018.
